Video marketing with YouTube and other video sites have had a dramatic effect on Internet marketing. Internet marketers are taking advantage of these sites to promote their products and services.

For years the only marketing sites available contained text, pictures and graphics.

The public just can’t get enough of videos.


YouTube gets more traffic per day than any other website. Favorite videos go viral almost instantly through one person sharing them with friends and family. New software makes it easy to create millions of video sales pages even for the novice videographer.

The most successful marketers stay current with the latest marketing systems. Video marketing is the latest and the most effective marketing plan. The popularity of YouTube and other video sites confirm video marketing as the best marketing tool.




Registering a YouTube Account

The first step to using YouTube as a marketing tool is to register for an account. There are 11 steps to open an account at YouTube.

· Access the YouTube home page at www.youtube.com.
· Click on “Create Account” at the top right-hand corner.
· This takes you to the “Get started with your account” page.
· Enter your email address.
· Choose a username that contains letters A-Z or numbers 0-9.
· “United States” is the default location. Choose your location if you are not in the US.
· Enter your postal code.
· Enter your birth date by month, day and year. Click the down arrows.
· Choose your gender.
· Choose to let others find your channel on YouTube if they have your email address.
· Decide if you want to receive product-related email communications from YouTube.
· Read and accept YouTube’s “Terms of Use.”





Making a Video to Place on YouTube

Now that you have an account at YouTube it’s time to make your video. You can write a script and make a text video with background music.


You can make a demonstration video that shows the features and benefits of a product.


You can write a script and record it live to explain your product. Or you can record a skit alone or with other actors. Here are the general instructions for making a video for YouTube.


· A digital camera or camcorder is the best equipment to use to make a video.
· You can also use a cell phone camera if you set up a mobile profile on YouTube.
· Edit your movie with Mac’s iMovie or Windows’ MovieMaker.
· Resize your video to YouTube’s dimensions—100MB and 10 minutes length.
· Resolution is 340X240 and YouTube accepts videos in Quick Time, MOV, and Windows AVI.
· Create a title, tags, description, category and set language.
· The description should be as complete as possible.
· Include your keyword or product name in the title and tags to make it easier to find.
· Upload the video by clicking on “Upload Video” in the upper right-hand corner on the home page.
