Male privilege
Feminists like to argue that men have many inherent male privileges available to them through the evil of patriarchy.
They like to espouse the values men receive at birth, yet keep considerably more quiet on the notion that women recieve just as many privileges. One could easily argue that with the sheer life and death privileges that women hold over men, that being a women is absolutely being a member of the most privileged gender.
Of course feminists will argue tooth and nail that any female advantages are just "benevolent sexism". However the same measurement could be used to imply that any so called male advantages are simply "benevolent sexism" as well....
....And the debate goes on...
....And on!
Female Privilege - What Privilege, What Laws, I Don't See Them, They Don't Exist
Go on any feminist's blog and they'll be all too quick and ready to share the male privilege checklist with you, but bring up the absolute fact that there are many inherent ways in which a woman gets advantages in society and you'll find yourself getting banned, flamed or maybe just get called a troll.
Regardless of if there are some real and obvious privileges to being a female.
I'm going to show you a few of them and let you make up your own mind as to why many men are bewildered when feminists just don't see the plethora of ways in which a being a women comes with the very best privileges imaginable and that there has never been a better time to be a women.
My Little Ol' Female Privilege Checklist
Just a couple of Reasons Women Have It Easy in some areas and the doom and gloom feminist patrol need to take the whole male privilege thing down a notch.
This list refers to the western world, not to backward, third world countries.
1. I will in all likelihood, live longer than the average man.
Being a women means that the lifestyle you will grow accustomed to will allow you the female privilege of living 5-7 years longer than a man.
2. If I refrain from fights, it is unlikely that this will damage my standing in my peer group or call into question my value as a person.
Something a girl never has to worry about is not the fact that fights may occur, but that if you, by either your own volition or not, become involved in an altercation of a physical nature and lose then the way in which your partner sees you may be heavily devalued, sometimes to the point where the lose of respect is so huge the the relationship is too far gone.
It happens, and it's not the patriarchy telling women how to think. They are capable of knowing what they want in a man.
Protection and strength are often seen as highly prized traits by potention partners.
3. If I have very close friends I am not suspected of various .....
As a man, you may from strong friendships, but if you get too close, your female partner may get suspicious of your sexuality if you differ from conventional male friendships.
4. If I interact with other people’s children - particularly people I don’t know very well - I do not have to worry much about the interaction being misinterpreted.
Feminist have pushed their anti male/all males are potential criminals agenda to the point where as a man, if I love kids, I might be considered suspicious. If a child falls down and no one is around, it'd be fine if my wife picks the child up, but if I do it then I'd better watch my back.
5. I am far less inclined to be shamed for being sexually inactive than a man.
As a female if I abstain from sex then, I won't be devalued
6. I am less likely to be thought of as homosexual for being less sexually active than a man
If a man doesn't have sex then both men and WOMEN start to doubt his heterosexuality.
7. My chances of obtaining a work-related injury or illness is significantly lower than a man’s.
Women have often had the privilege of choosing what jobs they sought after on the basis of employment satisfaction, men have often had to choose more risky work in order to support their families.
Women also spend 17% of the family income on themselves versus 3% for the men, which means often men have to earn more to keep their spouses happy.
8. I have a lower chance of being a victim of a violent assault than a man.
Part of a female's privelege is that they get to have a massive representation in the media when it comes to their victimhood, however whilst this perception is perpetuated, the fact that men are assaulted more often in society has gone by relatively unnoticed.
9. If I am to marry, then there is a likely chance that I will have the option to quit my job and live off my husband’s income without having my femininity questioned.
There is still a huge perception out there that if a man is a stay at home dad/husband, then he is a drain and is perceived as a loser.
This is frequently the view of women, not just their male peers
10. I am not required by society and my partner to be the emotionally stable/strong one
Women's emotions are validated and they are allowed to be upset, whenever and whereever their perogative demands.
Men who show their emotional state are devalued by WOMEN in society.
11. If I don't earn a large income, no one will judge my status
Part of the female privilege checklist is not having to worry that your overall worth is tied up directly to your financial worth.
Women prefer men with high incomes, men tend to not care as much.
12. I am far less likely to die at work than a man
Women only make up 7% of workplace fatalities. Men do not have male privilege when it comes to death.
13. As a women I can choose any occupation without worrying about supporting my family
Many women do need to support their families, but almost all men in families are expected to forgo job satisfaction in order to support their families.
14. As a women I am not labled as selfish when I spend money on myself - "Because I'm worth it"
Society tells women that they deserve to be pampered, to relax to be treated like a lady, like a princess. However when they do they make 6 times the purchases for vanity, than men do they are never called selfish pigs.
15. If I hit a man I probably will not go to jail, in fact I probably won't be charged
Women on man assault is laughed at and viewed with a far reduced villification than that of the opposite instance.
Men go to jail when reported, women are assumed to be provoked, or in defense, or who cares - He can handle it.
16. 75% of all medical research is to benefit my gender
I know my value to society and how important I am viewed.
17. I own 80% of the wealth, but still have activists actively protesting for my rights
Feminists work hard to make sure there are problems to perceive.
18. When my marriage ends I will overwhelmingly be likely to have custody of my kids
85% of custody cases go to the mother.
19. I can state that there are male privileges, but deny there are female privileges
Without reading the female privilege checklist, or having any facts.
20. I am less likely to be killed than a man
What male deaths? Where? Who?
2/3 of murder victims are males
21. I’m entitled to the benefits of a safe, orderly society, but no one expects me to risk my personal safety to maintain it.
I can complain when it's not safe, but no one cares if I refrain from putting my life on the line to protect everybodies freedoms
22. I can blame men for the patriarchy and for just about everything, but the mothers of the evil men are not to blame and if I raise a bad boy, it's not my fault
As part of my female privilege checklist, I can feel comfortable in citing alarming statistics on male instigated violence, but at no stage will I insist on a mother's responsibility to raise her children with both discipline and respect.
23. If something is hard and I seem incapable of completing a task, I can blame patriarchial forces, the best part is, many will support my shift of blame.
At no stage are men who are high ranking in organizations there on merit, and if I as a female fail to work my way up the corporate ladder then it is conspirical forces working against me.
24. If I call the police on my male partner, they will believe whatI say because I am FEMALE
The law is set up to protect my word above the human rights of a man.
25. I am less likely to be murdered by my mother
Statistically, a boy is more likely to be killed by his mother than a daughter is
26. I can sit next to children on any major airline and am not discriminated against by my gender
Men were banned from sitting next to children on British Airlines and Air New Zealand.
So the pilot was safe to fly the plane, but not safe enough to trust next to kids.
27. Although I may make sexually motivatied decisions, no one with insist I think with my genitals
It's fair game in man hunting season though
28. I can use my lack of strength to get out of many physical activities and get well natured, kind men to do tasks for me
Many ladies use their female privilege to get men to do their bidding.
29. I will get lessor sentences for crimes if I get convicted at all
Men receive harsher punishments across all crimes
30. If my genitals are cut at birth it is a mutilation of the most disgusting kind
However if it is a boy's circumcision, then it is highly acceptable.
31. If I do become pregnant I can terminate, adopt or keep the baby. If I don't want to bear the financial burden, I have 100% control over the situation.
In many countries if I terminate, I can demand costs be taken from the father of the child.
32. If I am a reporter and want to go in a male sports locker room, it's discrimination if I am not allowed in.
True story!
33. If I murder my child, some will come automatically to my defense with claims of post pardum, post natal depression - My guilt is lessened if not admonished based on my gender by many
I'm not even going to link to the feministing article where a feminists tries to explain away a murder by using a post pardum defense, when no details were yet to be confrimed.
34. I have government funded courses at university on the subject of my gender
In fact there is no men's studies course.
Only a male studies portion written by feminists
But I can still deny female privileges.
35. When in need I have far more tax payer resources at my disposal
Womens advocacy groups recieve a staggering 2800% more tax payer funded resources than male needs groups.
36. I can make up statistics and have them reported by the media and have women's rights groups lobby on the basis of these blatant falsities.
Super Bowl beatings anyone?
37. I can rest assured that many men will give their time and money and bring mainstream attention to female health issues.
But where are the women organizing prostate cancer awareness luncheons and charities?
38. I can look forward to the privilege of society treating me nicer
...But can still maintain there is no female privilege.
39. I am 5 times less likely to become homeless because I am female
...But can stil maintain there are no female privileges.
40. I receive car insurance premiums cheaper because of my privilege/gender
Yet men are discriminated against.
...And that's okay with feminists!
41. I can point the finger at my partner for any discriminations of the past, but bear no responsibility for what any evil women has ever done
I can blame, but of course, not be blamed.
42. I can call men privileged, but can flat out state that any man saying women have female privileges is being mysogonistic.
But no insults or generalizations I or any feminists make are misandristic.
43. I can enjoy advertisers pandering to my dollar because I make up the spending majority and therefor shows that find females in a positive light (in order to appease advertisers and the female dollar).
I do not want to see female villains or male victims, so as the majority gender of television viewership, I can be assured that most shows will cater to me.
44. I can use my menstrual cycle as an excuse for any erratic moods or unnacceptable behavior.
But if men behaved like that, I would find it to be abusive.
...And of course no man can assume my behavior is due to my "time of the month".
45. I can enjoy the generosity of free drinks, dinners and many privileges due to my gender
But still insist there are no female privileges
46. I can rest assured my gender make up the MAJORITY of voters
But are still an oppressed MAJORITY!
47. If I want to hurt a man, I can falsely accuse him of rape and even if it is proven that I lied, I will most likely go free, whilst his reputation will be tarnished and the stress he endures will be met with almost no likelihood of a damage claim.
In Conclusion
As you can clearly see there are many female privileges, but many feminists would have you believe that these either do not exist, or are not privileges at all.
Even if they use definitions analogous to the exact same meaning as to distance themsleves from their blatent female privileges.
This is simply a response to the male privilege checklist. I simply want to point out that as a female, of course there are difficulties you may encounter, but on the upside there are advantages that are solely enjoyed by your gender.
Male privilege has met it's match
