Making Your Best Efforts Count
The Secrets Of Article Marketing are hardly esoteric, in fact they are obvious that one must read between the lines just to filter out all the garbage.
Everywhere you look - "buy this ebook and get rich" or "use this software and get 100000 links" and frankly they're tempting at times.
What is a poor article marketer to do?
Well, you can start off by applying a little common sense (I wrote a hub on the lack of common sense if you're interested), but more so than that it's a matter of crossing out the wish list.
You see most bloggers who use article submissions to get traffic and links know that writing and submitting is a time consuming process, so what do they do? - They spend all their time looking for the answer to save time.
HUH?
Confused? - Well, I sure am. What a conundrum and yet find me a internet marketer who isn't always looking for the newest shiniest toy to help them. The fact remains that the newest shiniest toy will help them spend, but more often than not it won't help them earn.
Spend - Research - Spend
This is indeed the pattern of far too many article marketers, they look and then buy and then they look for the next big thing - Which of course they buy, but at what stage did they earn anything and when will they learn their lesson - Work is what pays the bills.
Look Left Look Right - While I Write
Whilst these info seekers are busy chasing their tails some of us write articles. Yes we do - We churn them out.
In fact my three closest marketing buddies told me how many articles they wrote last week and how many links they built - Guess What? - I had written twice as many as the three of them combined and I had built double the links. What on earth were they doing?
Monkey Marketing
Too many writers are trying to be internet Gorillas without putting in the hard yards, but as it turns out they end up being marketing monkeys.
What can some one seriously expect to achieve when they spend all their time looking for the pot of gold under the rainbow - I've got my lucky charms - My Articles
The Real Secret - 1-2-3
Unless you have 1000 articles circulating the internet putting your name out there and enticing followers, then you need to get there before you start looking for the icing on the cake.
You need to set a minimum amount of articles per day which you intend to write and stick to it. Also have a set amount of links that you desire and get them.
If you have some time left over then fine - Look for the next big cheat, but remember you could be itching closer to that magic thousand mark.
So how does the 1-2-3 work?
First you need to know that you must write a swag of articles, once you understand that this is not negotiable, then you can start to apply yourself.
Set goals of your total work like 100 articles - 500 - 1000 - 2000.
These include everything you write, both content for your blog and articles for directories. Now you can begin to reign in the big numbers.
1 Find Low Competition Keywords And Write About Them
It's pretty simple - only target low competition ones until you have a heavy hitting blog.
2 Build Links To Those Articles
Make sure each article you write has at least 5-10 incoming links. The more you have the less likely a competitor will ever take you out of the search results.
3 Write Often
If you haven't grasped this by now then maybe it won't ever happen, but you need to write frequently. If you are not writing 10 articles per day then speed up, sharpen up and hit that mark.
It's the minimum you need, so find a way.
When you have a thousand - Then you can focus a little more on the peripheral things that can help.
In Conclusion
Don't underestimate the significance of writing often, as it is the single biggest secret to succeeding online and if you don't think it's a secret then how many marketers do you know who write 20+ articles a day? - About 1% I would guess.
